The verbal ability section can be solved fastest in the exam. This section, however, is supposedly the most difficult one to prepare for.
In fact, unless one has some amount of grounding in grammar, and a sizeable vocabulary, this area can turn out to be your biggest CAT hurdle.
A typical 30 marks section of verbal comprises:
- Reading Comprehension: 10-11 questions
- Logical Reasoning: 9-10 questions
- Other Verbal questions: 10-11 questions: This section includes components such as sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Paragraph Completion, Verbal-based reasoning and Critical Reasoning.
Since communication is a very important tool in all spheres of management, this section tests a person’s skill at the English language.
The CAT paper increased the number of questions in this section, shows the importance that the examiners attach to testing us on Verbal Ability.
